Business Trips - Europe
Lisbon
This was very early in my career and in truth, I remember very little about it. My manager and I stayed at the company flat for a single night and closed that down.
My only other memories was a guy at the bank we were visiting who looked and dressed like Mr Bean, and buying a couple of bottles of Port (1986 and 1988 vintage).

Luxembourg
This was a flying 3 night, 2 day trip.
I was surprised that so much of the city comprised new developments for the European Union.
People were courteous.
It is interesting that so many people commute from Belgium and neighbouring countries to work.
The return flight was delayed by almost two hours and BA had run out of jets, so took 50 minutes longer than scheduled in a twin propped plane.

Amsterdam
Amsterdam
Another flying visit, which unfortunately went belly-up.
Only my firm could arrange for a demonstration in the middle of the Euro 2000 football tournament, when the only accommodation is at the overpriced Hilton.
The only saving grace (I have visited the city before and loved the place), for the trip was realising that John and Yoko had done one of their "Bed Ins" at the hotel and seeing minor football celebrities and managers around the place.
Thought I would try to take in the Van Gogh Museum - failed miserably and took in a bar with ex-collegue Neil.
