Disney 100, Battersea Power Station and the West End, 25-26 November 2023
The Disney 100 year celebration exhibit is in London until April 2024. Jenny and I went up to the Excel Centre and although the contents was interesting, the visit was marred by the crowds and layout. It was impossible to read the information and history on the walls as the previous entrants were not being moved along, so the travelling was at a stand still.
We then went to see the newly refurbished and renovated Battersea Power Station, which looks epic. An old favourite of mine, and it was good to see that the site was at last being used after being empty since the 1980s.
We will be back when the crowds have died down and we can face some up market retail stores.
A 24 bus ride from across the river took us to Victoria (demonstrations blocked Victoria Street) so we tried strolling down towards the hub by Premier Inn hotel near Westminster Abbey.
After dumping bags and checking in, we strolled again through St James' Park and on to Piccadilly and Covent Garden.
Dinner at Frankie and Benny's on the Strand, and then a leisurely Embankment walk back to the hotel.
In the morning, we walked a little again to Westminster Abbey (externals only), then up Whitehall to the Cenotaph.
The tube then took us to Paddington and St Pancras before getting the train home.
The photo galleries are organised as "Disney 100", "Evening", and "Morning" below.
These photos are from my Canon Powershot SX720HS compact and maybe a couple from my iPhone.
