Alton, Trentham, National Memorial Arboretum Alrewas, 18-19 November 2023
A quick weekend in Staffordshire to visit family graves and get to the National Memorial Arboretum around Remembrance weekend (a week previously).
Although the forecast was for wet weather, it stayed in the main dry for Jenny, myself, Layla and Wendy, Jenny's mum.
On the Saturday, we did some shopping in Stoke and visited Alton cemetery after calling to stroll around the ruins of Croxden Abbey. Jenny and I had an afternoon walk around the lake at Trentham Gardens, close to the hotel.
The Arboretum was lovely and we will visit again when it is little warmer. The main area was very poignant, and the other memorials around the large site thought provoking - we were pleased to have made the effort to visit.
These photos are from my Canon Powershot SX720HS compact and maybe a couple from my iPhone.
